Payment Policy

This Payment Policy explains how payments work when you order from ABAC LLC, doing business as "Mouassine Ceramic" ("we," "us," or "our"). We are a Virginia, USA registered LLC, and our handmade ceramics are shipped internationally directly from our workshops in Marrakech and Safi, Morocco.

1. Accepted Payment Methods

We accept the following payment methods at checkout:

  • Shopify Payments — including major credit and debit cards such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover, depending on what's available in your region
  • PayPal — pay with your PayPal balance, linked bank account, or any card saved to your PayPal account

All payment methods available to you will be displayed automatically at checkout.

2. When You're Charged

Your payment method is charged in full at the time you place your order, not when your order ships. This allows us to begin preparing and packaging your handmade pieces right away.

3. Currency

Prices are displayed and processed in the currency shown at checkout. If your card or PayPal account is denominated in a different currency, your bank or card provider may apply its own currency conversion rate and, in some cases, a small foreign transaction fee. These conversion fees are set by your bank or card network, not by us.

4. Payment Security

We do not store your full card details on our own systems. Payments are processed securely through Shopify Payments and PayPal, both of which use industry-standard encryption and are PCI-DSS compliant. Shopify Payments transactions are processed under Shopify's own PCI-compliant infrastructure, and PayPal transactions are handled entirely on PayPal's secure platform.

5. Declined or Failed Payments

If your payment is declined, your order will not be processed. Common reasons include incorrect card details, insufficient funds, or your bank flagging an international transaction for extra verification (which can happen more often with cross-border purchases from a Morocco-based seller). If this happens, please double-check your details, contact your bank, or try an alternative payment method.

6. Sales Tax & Customs Duties

Where applicable, U.S. sales tax is calculated and added at checkout in accordance with Virginia and applicable state tax laws. For international orders, any customs duties, import taxes, or fees charged by your country's customs authority on arrival are separate from the price paid at checkout and are the responsibility of the customer.

7. Fraud Prevention

To protect both our customers and our business, we may use fraud detection tools provided by Shopify Payments and PayPal, and we reserve the right to cancel or refund orders that appear fraudulent or fail verification checks.

8. Refunds

Refunds, when approved, are issued to the original payment method used at checkout (Shopify Payments or PayPal). Please see our Shipping, Returns and Refunds page for details on how to request a refund.
